In Iceland, each season has its own charm! The long days of summer (June to August) are perfect for exploring, hiking and watching the midnight sun, while winter (October to March) is the season of the northern lights. Spring and autumn are quieter periods, with fewer visitors.
Iceland is a land of contrasts, where ice meets volcano fire. This encounter has given the region exceptional landscapes, such as Thingvellir National Park and the Gullfoss waterfall. These two natural wonders lie at the heart of the famous Golden Circle.
Further east, the glacial lagoon of Jökulsárlón offers breathtaking panoramas with its floating icebergs. Equally impressive are the wild beauty of the Western Fjords.
To the north, the Lake Myvatn region is covered with fascinating volcanic landscapes, while to the south, Vatnajökull National Park is famous for its glaciers. Not far away is the magnificent Seljalandfoss waterfall.
The island also boasts fascinating cultural sites and enchanting towns. You can’t travel to Iceland without visiting Reykjavik, with its colorful facades, old quarter and street art!
Follow in the footsteps of the Vikings! You can explore the ancient settlement of Hafnir, now an archaeological site, the farms of Stöng and the Museum of Colonization in Reykjavik. The capital is also a great place for a stroll. And don’t hesitate to spend a magical holiday season in Iceland!
Winter is a great time to see the northern lights illuminate the sky. Summer is the time to contemplate the midnight sun. It’s also a great season for hiking. You’ll hike through breathtaking landscapes, from volcanoes to glaciers. After your excursion, relax in hot springs such as the Blue Lagoon.
